Short Description
The Napa/Sonoma area has so much to offer, whether you’re a connoisseur, consumer, dabbler or sightseer. We suggest you visit this area during the non-summer months and arrive during the week in order to avoid the crowds and traffic.
Note: May we suggest leaving your rig at the park for an excursion to the coast? This one or two day adventure to Mendocino County will be your reward and one you won’t regret. Your journey commences at Hwys 101 & 128 north of Healdsburg and takes you westward on Hwy 128 to the Pacific Ocean cliffs of the Albion River Inn. This avenue of asphalt will lead you through varied stunning scenery. Hilltop climbs with wooded countryside open up to lush valleys which are often planted with vines so familiar to the
Napa/Sonoma area. Anderson Valley is in fact a wine growing region itself and the wineries are low profile, laid back and charming. Try the quaint Navarro Vineyards adjacent to the highway. Curiosity stops are in Boonville,
Philo and Navarro. Prior to arriving at your final destination you will meander through redwood forests so thick that your headlights may be required even at high noon.
The renowned Albion River Inn perched on the bluffs of the Pacific Ocean is a welcome reprieve. Your private cottage is one of comfort and convenience. Slide open your patio door as you listen and watch the surf break below. Don’t forget dinner at the highly recognized Albion River Inn Restaurant, also overlooking the rugged coast. Award winning cuisine and wine list, yet not insanely priced. Stroll back to your cottage and light the fire in the bedroom sitting area fireplace. It doesn’t get much better than this.
Back in Napa Valley—oh, so many restaurant choices—a few for your consideration (lunch and dinner):
Mustard’s Grille, 7399 St Helena Hwy in Yountville, a perennial favorite with locals and tourists alike, 707-944-2424.
