This facility could be another option if you want to visit the Great Sand Dunes National Monument. Quiet desert setting. Paved streets within the park and mostly gravel sites; some with 50 amp service but no water or sewer hookups. Site #3 in Loop A is paved and about 100 feet with a water connection not too far away. Sites #12 & 20 might also work. In Loop C, try sites #40, 42, 44, 47 or 51. FF: Loop A - #3. Open 4/15 - 10/15, fair dump station, laundry. DIRECTIONS: East of Alamosa about 15 miles on Hwy 160 at mile marker 248, take Hwy 150 north for approximately 13-/12 miles and take a left onto Six Mile Lane. This is a good paved road and you will cross three cattle guards as you travel 8 miles to the park entrance. Suggest that you slow down when crossing the third cattle guard. Note: The park entrance is paved, but you will then take a “washboardy” gravel road for one mile to the campground area which has paved streets.
