Selected Diesel Fuel Stops
Our criteria: The truck stop must be paved (except for the note below), allow adequate swing room, and we must personally have fueled up or observed the truck stop while driving by.
We recommend fueling at the truck islands, not the RV islands.
We have listed the exit number or approximate mile marker (MM) and noted on which side or corner the truck stop is located, i.e. S= South, NW = Northwest, etc. In addition a city or town is listed to give you an approximate idea where the stop is located.
Note: It is a rare occasion in Alaska, Northern British Columbia and The Yukon Territory when a fuel stop will be paved.

Unless you have a commercial permit, you may not fuel at the truck islands – you must fuel up at the diesel pumps where the gasoline pumps are. Typically the diesel island is closest to the highway. The outside pump closest to the highway is generally preferable however you may also pump on the other side. Most of these fuel stops have a restaurant and therefore lunch time can be busy with auto traffic. Consider avoiding this time frame. Our fuel stops were rather painless – patience is the order of the day.

Unless you have a commercial permit, you may not fuel at the truck islands – you must fuel up at the diesel pumps where the gasoline pumps are. Typically the diesel island is closest to the highway. The outside pump closest to the highway is generally preferable however you may also pump on the other side. Most of these fuel stops have a restaurant and therefore lunch time can be busy with auto traffic. Consider avoiding this time frame. Our fuel stops were rather painless – patience is the order of the day.
