Dry camping will be on your agenda at this facility which was once used as a P.O.W. camp for Japanese Nationalists during World War II. Mostly shaded sites and in the 100 foot range are #552 & 553 (pull-thrus), #550 (pull-in) and #489 which is a pull-in or back-in. Pull-in sites #551 & 496 are 60 and 90 feet respectively. Fairly open sites which can be utilized as a back-in or pull-in are #649, 650 & 651 - all in the 60-65 range. Again, you have the option of pulling or backing in at sites #201 (75 feet) and #210 (60 feet). All sites offer good elbow room. FF: #201, 210, 552, 553, 649, 650 & 651. Mostly paved streets, dirt/grass sites. Generators permitted 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. No pets, no reservations. Secured entry. Good dump. Open 4/15 - 10/31. DIRECTIONS: If northbound on I-95, take Exit #92 in Connecticut and head south on Hwy 2 to Hwy 78 East. If southbound on I-95, take Exit #1 and head south on Hwy 3 to Hwy 78 East. In both cases, once on Hwy 78 East, motor down to Hwy 1 North. Take a left and go just over six miles and you will see the green Burlingame Camping Area sign. Take a left and go 1/3 mile to the park entrance (making two right hand turns in the process).
