Take a stroll or bike ride on the famed Seawall. The Galveston Historical Foundation operates sixteen museums on the island and the Historic Downtown District should be on your itinerary. Don't overlook the Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens beginning in November, Dickens on the Strand and the second largest Mardi Gras in the country starting in February. DIRECTIONS: Heading south on I-45 after you go over the causeway you will arrive on Galveston Island. After going over 61st Street continue south on Hwy 87 for 4-1/3 miles to the light at Sixth Street. Go through the light and proceed 1/3 of a mile to the light at Ferry Street. Turn right and the park will be on your left.
